This series of plates come from 'The Splendors of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in Hand Coloured Illustrations.' The book is filled with 32 hand-colored photographs of California to commemorate the completion of the Panama Canal. As stated in the introduction, the book is intended to be, "a perpetual reminder of a glorious event in California's romantic career."
Description: The European Pavillions are described in detail, with Scandinavian, Swedish, Italian, and Danish styles of architecture incorporated.
