This beautifully colored scene is a sunset over a port in Benares (Varanasi), a city in Northern India. Benares is one of the seven sacred cities of Hinduism, and is known for the “Golden Temple,” Kashi Vishwanath, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, among other famous monuments.
