"Monday, May 22, 9 Nights and 3 Matinees. Willie Sparks. Edouin's."

Original vintage poster advertising New York opera performances. The Grand Opera House was a New York staple of the theater scene since its opening in 1868 until the 1960s when it was ultimately torn down. The poster illustration features a cast of characters, each acting as a stand-in for a different theater genre. There is the gloomy dramatist on the left, the enthusiastic comedian on the right, and a slapstick actor diving down the stairs headfirst behind them.
