This beautifully busy vintage print was created by Austrian-born Queer, Jewish artist Mariette Lydis (1887-1970). A mother cloaked in brown fabric gazes up at the sky as she holds her child near her chest. The mother stands barefoot with one foot upon a scroll that reads "World without End". She is surrounded by four other children in white dresses at the base of an evergreen tree decorated with candles and a single snowflake. The faces of beautiful women and the figures of marionette-like characters frame the mother on both sides.
