Illustrated by artist Auguste Roubille for the French humour magazine, this comic features a soldier's inner monologue as he marches alongside his fellow soldiers. Weighed down by the mass of weapons and gear he is forced to carry, the soldier asks "Quel est le salaud qu'a fait les kilomètres si longs?..." or "Who is the bastard who made the kilometers so long?..."
