"Crystal Lake of Enchanting Beauty Surrounded by Mountains that Tower Toward the Skies / Pettit Lake, one of the far-famed attractions in the Saw Tooth Forest Reserve, Idaho. Round about are lofty peaks whose slopes come down to the waters' edge. The waters are so clear that the three-clad shores are reflected as in a mirror, with each detail brought out with marvelous fidelity."

This sepia rotogravure was printed using a rotary press with intaglio cylinders in order to reprint a high volume of quality images. Newspapers started taking advantage of this system and populated their publications with images similar to the one seen here in order to spark more visual interest. This specific rotogravure is of Pettit Lake in Idaho, U.S.
