Jean Richard (1921-2001) was an actor, comedian, and circus owner who toured with many circus groups. He opened Cirque Pinder in 1972 and it soon became known as the ultimate and largest French circus of its time with some of the greatest performers of the time booking appearances there. Today, Richard is known as a cult figure within the realm of circus fans.
