Kathleen Kucka Untitled Art

USA, 1999

12 x 12 in (30 x 30 cm)

ID #KATHLEENKUCKA-6

This style of work marks American visual artist Kathleen Kucka's transition from "burn" art into acrylic painting. Kucka would pour the paint directly onto wooden or aluminum panels, eschewing brushes and leaving flows of paint to be directed by gravity and fluid dynamics. She was heavily inspired by Yayoi Kusama and began working in this medium as a response to the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. She has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, the Columbia Museum of Art, and the Drawing Center amongst others.

Note: The purchase of a painting includes a free booklet of the artist's work.
