"La Cressonnée"

A traditional alcoholic beverage, served before a meal to stimulate the appetite. It was flavored with watercress and anise. By the time this poster was created in 1924, absinthe had been banned in France for nearly a decade. La Cressonnée was one of several anis-based alternatives that emerged to meet the market demand.
