The adhatoda plant may also be known as the malabar nut, but the word "adhatoda," in Tamil, means "untouched by goats" because goats do not like the plant's bitter taste.

Many parts of this plant have been used to treat various health conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, and coughs and colds.

This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.

Condition: Good.
