This plate shows two types of anthyllis plants, the anthyllis herbacea foliis and the anthyllis fruticosa foliis pinnatis... Anthyllis is a genus of flowering plants, including what might be called the kidney vetch. Some plants may have antiseptic or antitoxic properties as well.
This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
