This original lithograph is advertising for T.C. Williams Company in Richmond, VA. In the 19th century, advertising became more focused on chromolithography as the colors came out in visually interesting ways, and companies were able to create intricate works. Chromolithography was replaced by photomechanical methods due to the high price of printing this way, but in its peak popularity, the advertising works that came out of this time period reflect the opulence of the turn of the century.
