Lhote au Tassili, the archaeological expeditions led by French ethnologist Henri Lhote in the 1950s and 60s to the Tassili n'Ajjer plateau in Algeria, where he discovered and documented thousands of prehistoric rock paintings and engravings. Lhote's groundbreaking work, including a famous 1957 exhibition, brought international attention to the vast collection of Saharan rock art, securing its recognition and its inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
