Original vintage poster for Samaritaine department store, a shopping empire founded by Ernest Cognacq and expanded with help from his wife, Louise Cognacq. A year before his death, Ernest opened several institutions intended to give back to the community like a retirement home and nursery. This poster emphasizes these charitable side projects, which continued even after Cognacq's death in 1928.
