"Folies Bergere"

"J'aime a la folie!", or "I love la folie!", this vintage poster for Folies Bergere - a French cabaret that first opened its doors in 1869 - advertises an experience of pure extravagance. Advertising the appearance of specific performer, Madame Paul Derval, the poster illustrates Madame Derval strutting across the cherry-red stage in a flamboyant cloak of white feathers and she tosses a string of beards into the air. .
