Originates from the John Reeves Collection of Zoological Drawings, compiled in Canton, China. John Reeves, an inspector of tea for the British East India Company, commissioned local Chinese artists between 1812 and 1831 to meticulously illustrate natural specimens. The original artwork is preserved in the library of the Natural History Museum in London.
