The aesthetically pleasing symmetry is highlighted. The detail of the entryway is intricately drawn in a sepia tone. This close-up allows a better look at the carvings and details.

This print comes from a compilation of plans, elevations, sections and details or the famous Alhambra. The Alhambra is a feat of Islamic architecture, a palace in Grenada, Spain. This book was created from the drawings of architects Jules Goury and Owen Jones. Jones was known for his eye for design and is often attributed with being a pioneer of modern color theory. His attention to detail is recognized in his works in this compilation. The works of Goury included in this compilation were drawings done on site at the Alhambra in 1834.
