Poster promoting multiple American novels released in 1897. The first is the memoir "Campaigning with Grant", written by General Horace Porter, an American soldier who served as General and President Ulysses S. Grant's personal secretary. The book recounts his experiences serving on General Grant's staff during the last year of the American Civil War (1865) in vivid detail. The second is Dr. Weir Mitchell's "Hugh Wynne, Free Quaker", a novel told from the perspective of an American patriot who serves under General George Washington during the American Revolution.
