This is an original cover of the 1895 Octobr issue of Scribner's. It included Andrews' 'A History Of The Last Quarter-Century In The United States' in which the intensive anti-Chinese sentiment in California is discussed. The phrase on the top was coined by Denis Kearney, a rampant anti-Chinese voice.
