On the left side of the poster are the clauses of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen (French:Declaration des Droits de L'Homme et du Citoyen), which was approved by the National Assembly of France on August 26, 1789. On the right is a red, white and blue print depicting the personification of Liberty in the common style of a classical Greek goddess.
