This Italian film poster advertises 'Shaft and the Slave Traders' (Shaft in Africa, 1973), the third film of the Detective Shaft film series starring Richard Roundtree as the titular detective John Shaft. The film series came to be as an 'African-American answer to Ian Fleming's James Bond' according to writer Ernest Tidyman. Shaft in Africa was directed by John Guillermin, produced by ROger Lewis, and co-starred Debebe Eshetu and Vonetta McGee.
