L'Baïonnette was created by Henri Maigrot who was a collaborator of L'Illustration. It began publication in 1915 and subsided in 1920 after 250 copies. Other notable artists besides Marcel Capy include Leonetto Cappiello, Cecil Howard, and Charles Leander.
