Artist Allan D'Arcangelo was known for his paintings of highways and road signs that border on pop art and minimalism, precisionism and hard-edge painting, and also surrealism.

This poster is one of a series of 24 for the 1972 Munich Olympics. They were all created by popular artists of the time, and were linked to that particular artist's visual identity. The artists were told to avoid the use of any red and black on them (which were traditionally associated with Nazi Germany).
