Abrotanum's young shoots and flowers can be used to make teas and flavor cooking. The plant can have many medicinal benefits, such as helping treat acne and anemia, or reducing swelling. It has a strong bitter flavor and scent.

This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
