[back] "'The Cunningham Story,' by David Taylor, is one of the seven paintings in the Great Moments in U.S. Olympic History collection. Crippled in a schoolhouse fire, eight-year-old Glenn Cunningham was told he would never walk again. With incredible determination, he became the champion miler of his day, and went on to win a silver medal in the 1936 Olympics. Sears, Roebuck and Co., in cooperation with the U.S. Olympic Committee, commissioned five American artists through the Saturday Evening Post, to recreate memorable scenes from our Olympic Heritage to help raise funds for the 1976 U.S. Olympic Team."

This is a double-sided poster. The original painting is on permanent display at United States Olympic Headquarters in New York City.
