Poster released by the AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education, a committee founded in 1955 to promote increased worker involvement in American politics. The poster is split vertically into two halves, the top ("progress") featuring five black and white photos labeled "JOBS / CLEAN AIR / GOOD SCHOOLS / GOOD HEALTH CARE / GOOD HOUSING". The lower half ("not retreat") is sepia-toned, with inverse photos "UNEMPLOYMENT / DIRTY AIR / POOR SCHOOLS / POOR HEALTH CARE / BAD HOUSING" present. Below is the phrase "REGISTER and VOTE". Washington union bug present at bottom of poster.
