4th of July 1976 Poster

USA, 1976

17 x 23 in (43 x 58 cm)

ID #FF9C-L-31

"Philadelphia, for a bicentennial without colonies. Freedom for all oppressed nations. For full democracy and equality. For jobs and a decent standard of living."

The bold colors of this print scream red, white, and blue, but the shadow of the 4 depicts masses of protestors fighting against things like imperialist wars, UAW strikes, and anti-racism campaigns. This poster promotes a celebration of two decades of America, but the poster makes it clear there is much more work to do.
