Buy More Liberty Bonds Poster
U.S.A, 191839 x 29 in (99 x 74 cm)
ID #ROLLDWN06A-Z-01
Vintage World War I poster, promoting the sale of liberty bonds to fund the war effort. The melodrama of this poster is intense—a mother clutches her children to her chest as she wards away some unseen danger with an outstretched arm. The Americans might have been fighting the Germans on the battlefield, but on the drawing board, the influence of German Expressionism was very much in vogue.
