Villeneuve-Saint-Georges" (Go into battle with pikes, pickaxes, pistols, rifles: far from disapproving of you, I will make it my duty, if necessary to take a place in your ranks. !! Aristide Briande, December 1899. The Victories of the Third Republic !! Villeneuve-Saint-Georges)

This intense original vintage poster is a piece of propaganda from the French government. It promotes taking up arms against strikers who called the massacre in the town of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. The quote is by French government official and socialist, Aristide Briand. The army of the French Republic is scene demolishing the protestors. From this poster alone, it's hard to tell who is on the good side.
