This reprint of an engraving is of a traditional oenochoe wine jug from the influential art book: Les Antiquités d'Hancarville. The vase itself is a key component of ancient Greek pottery and symbolizes centuries of the craft. Sir William Hamilton and Pierre-Francois Hancarville amassed a large collection of Etruscan, Greek, and Roman Antiquities from the Cabinet of the Hon in one book.
The original engravings in the book are rare and highly-coveted. Please note that this page is from the reprinted art book by Madeleine Huwiler and Sebastian Schütze, published in 2015.
Condition: Very good; please note that this piece is a reproduction.
