Achillea plants are also known as yarrows, and can be used in medicine because of their healing and anti hemorrhagic properties. The genus Achillea was named after the Greek god Achilles.

This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
