The anguina plant is also known as the snake gourd. Its fruit may have some medicinal properties, but this plant can also cause diseases to other crops.
This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
