Antholyza was a former genus with many species that had similar flowers, which were often orange and red. Since this time, these species have been sorted into different genera (examples include Babiana nad Gladiolus).
This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
