This print shows the Arbutus folio serrato flore oblongo and the Arbutus folio serrato. Arbutus plants may also be known as Madrones, a word that comes from the Spanish word for strawberry tree, madroño.
This hand-colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
