Britain travel poster showcasing Walmer Castle in Deal. The castle has a rich history, acting as a military fortress for Henry VIII (the one with 6 wives and who converted England to Protestantism so he could divorce them), and was seized by pro-royalists for months during the English Civil War. The castle was constructed in the 16th century at the behest of Henry VIII in response to tension between England, France, and the Holy Roman Empire (the German confederation of states that was dissolved by Napoleon Bonaparte).
