José Bayard Badila was a bullfighting assistant who founded the bullfighting museum in Valencia.

"La Lidia" refers to "toro de lidia," or a Spanish bullfighting bull. This beautiful print is part of a collection of Spanish bullfighting works showing the "historia del toreo," that were part of a periodical. It gives viewers a look into the culture of bullfighting we see today.
