José Sánchez del Campo, also known as Cara-Ancha (Wide-Head, for his large face) was a Spanish bullfighter in the late 1800s to early 1890s.

"La Nueva Lidia" refers to "toro de lidia," or a Spanish bullfighting bull. This beautiful print is part of a collection of Spanish bullfighting works showing the "historia del toreo," that were part of a periodical. It gives viewers a look into the sport of bullfighting we see today.
