Despite looking very peaceful and beautiful, swans are very aggressive for no particular reason. The swans in this bird poster could explode at any point, but for the time being, it seems like all the other innocent birds are safe. Animals depicted include the mute swan, the whooper swan, a pelican, the blue Swedish duck, amongst others. Part of a series of Carl Votteler colored lithographs depicting various wildlife from the 19th century out of Illinois, U.S.A.
