Plate 30 includes the following note in the book's annex: "THE CATHEDRAL SQUARE IN THE ISLAND OF TORCELLO, taken from the porch of Santa Fosca's. In the back-ground is the Provincial Museum, and the stone chair called Attila's, but probably made for the Tribunes who sat in it to administer justice."
