"Abolish CHILD LABOR"

1930s Rebel Arts cardboard poster protesting child labor, featuring a hand holding a sign against factory skyline in red.

Rebel Arts Group was a left-wing artist’s cooperative based in Greenwich Village, formed in 1934 by a group of students from the Rand School for Social Science in NYC. The school was supported by the Socialist Party, the Workmen's Circle, and other socialist unions. The group was a strong component of the Socialist Party's intersectional arts-activism work as a whole. The group produced plays, music, murals, and more. Some famous artists involved were Harry Herzog, Alex Haberstroch, and Fairfield Porter.
