"The War is Over! A celebration, Sheep Meadow, Central Park, 12:30 PM May 11, 1975"

This stunning print promotes a post-war celebration in New York City. This joyous image of a woman holding her arms out for white doves, a symbol of peace, is perfect for the cause. According to V&A South Kensington, "Over 100,000 people attended [the celebration]. The organisers were the 'troubadour of the New Left' Phil Ochs and fellow activist Cora Weiss. Ochs's original design for the poster adapted a Second World War depiction of a soldier kissing a nurse on V.E. day. However the planning committee considered it chauvinistic, and this photograph taken in Vietnam was substituted instead."
