"WORKERS UNITE / FOR A / WORKERS WORLD"

1930s Rebel Arts poster advocating for worker's unions featuring two men and one woman side by side with fists raised, white on red background. Union bug in bottom right.

Rebel Arts Group was a left-wing artist’s cooperative based in Greenwich Village, formed in 1934 by a group of students from the Rand School for Social Science in NYC. The school was supported by the Socialist Party, the Workmen's Circle, and other socialist unions. The group was a strong component of the Socialist Party's intersectional arts-activism work as a whole. The group produced plays, music, murals, and more. Some famous artists involved were Harry Herzog, Alex Haberstroch, and Fairfield Porter.
