French poster for the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "Solidarity", a Polish trade union founded in 1980 and the first independent trade union recognized by the state in a Warsaw Pact country. In September of 1981, the union's membership peaked at around 10 million, or roughly 1/3rd of Poland's working population. Poster features a red and white print of Place des Invalides in Paris. The text in Polish translates to "THE CROW WILL NOT DEFEAT THE EAGLE". French text along sides.
