This vintage poster is actually an historical artifact memorializing May 68, when the 1968 protests that were occuring worldwide finally reached France. Students at La Sorbonne went on strike and within a matter of weeks the entire country was in chaos. It resulted in the country's economy shutting down for a brief period and is also attributed with the women's rights movement and gay rights movements in France. This poster, by the famous French painter Rebeyrolle, shows the human struggle of these protests, where the working class and upper class alike joined hands to fight together.
