"On ordered rows of crosses and Stars of David on the Pacific islands are names that are a cross-section of democracy: Culpepper, Tomaino, Sweeney, Bromberg, Depow, Melloy, Ponzani. They fought together as comrades in arms; they died together and now sleep side by side. Only with the same teamwork can we be sure that their sacrifices will make a better, safer world in which to live. United we fought and united we prevail."

This original vintage poster is from a campaign run by Scholastic Magazines. In a dual effort to support American war efforts and promote social justice, these prints used various figureheads and uber-patriotic quotes. They were hung up in schools across the United States, trying to ensure the future generation would receive the messages. The main point is clear -- diversty is what makes America, America.

Year: c. 1946
