La Monnaie de Paris Poster
France, c. 1972
39 x 24 in (99 x 61 cm)
ID #ROLLDWN56A-L-06
This stunning poster uses a mix of collage and painting to create an eye-catching image. Advertising the museum of French currency, a rooster, a symbolic animal for France, is shown made out of different forms of cash and coins. Behind the funky abstract animal is a color blocked design and something resembling the French flag. This is an original piece that looks more like artwork than advertisement. The artist was inspired by surrealists, creating a piece that is so bizarre, it draws viewers in.
