Plate 26 includes the following note in the book's annex: "SALIZZADA (SELCIATO) DI S. GIUSTINA. — S. Justine's Pavement, at S. TERNITA'S, is one of the most characteristic and most picturesque streets in Venice. The historian Apostolo Zeno was born here in 1668 near the Contarini Palace known as the Porta di Ferro or Iron Gate; On the right, at the hither extremity of the street, is a figure of the Virgin by Torretti, one of the five very beautiful ones still existing in Venice and Chioggia."
