Plate 20 includes the following note in the book's annex: "CATHEDRAL, S. FOSCA'S CHURCH, and the ESTUARY MUSEUM IN THE ISLAND OF TORCELLO. - The Cathedral remounts to the VII. century and is famed for its sculptures and for the mosaics which decorate its interior; the church of S. Fosca is of the XI. century and remarkable only for its antiquity. Opposite the cathedral is the building which once contained the Town Archives, but which has now become the Museo dell' Estuario, founded in 1887 by the liberality of the distinguished archæologist, Commenda-tore Caesar Augustus Levi."
